Taco’s Graduation

Taco graduated from ARMY boot-camp last week and my sister invited Trent to tag along with them for the drive to South Carolina so they could see him before he headed off for AIT training in Virginia. Trent was gone a whopping 4 days but that’s another story for another time. I’m just proud and still patting myself on the shoulder for allowing him to go and be away from me for that long. Taco kept writing and begging me so I caved and let him go. Trent and I texted back and forth a bit Tuesday night while everyone else was asleep in the hotel room. I asked him how the trip was and cracked up with he texted back, “"Actually very relaxing! No one thought to slam on the brakes and scream to simulate a car accident while I was sleeping. It was a nice change!” which had me laughing hysterically because Bur and I do that whenever someone falls asleep in our vehicle because we are complete asshole’s like that!

Anyway, they left Tuesday morning and were able to spend time with him from Wednesday til Friday morning. Here are a few of the photos that Trent came back with from the trip.

Taco doesn’t look too happy about heading to Virginia and saying goodbye but we will hopefully be able to see him during the holiday’s. Fingers crossed!

The Flu

For the past week, the kids have each been dealing with some type of cold symptom. Trent had it first, then Trey and Faith. Of course, I was the lucky one and have full blown flu symptoms. I feel (and look) like death right now. My head feels like someone beat the hell out of me with a baseball bat, my eyes and neck ache, my chest feels like it’s on fire, and well I’m just really sick.

Even though Faith has a little cold and nothing has slowed her down, she has somehow convinced herself that she too, has the flu. Hypochondriac kids are comical.

Trent has wanted a crazy color in his hair for as long as I can remember. The school he attends is very strict so I was able to use that as an excuse to hold him off for a little while. I didn’t have that excuse this summer, unfortunately. At first we bleached all of the color out of his hair and did a red mohawk with purple all around. I didn’t like it much because the purple didn’t work out as good and I hated his hair being so light. He leaves Tuesday morning to head to South Carolina to see Taco graduate so I told him that we need to get his hair back looking as normal as possible so I put the brown back and touched up the raspberry color on top. It looks SO MUCH BETTER! I actually like it.

If you are lucky enough to really know Trent, you will know that he has a very crude sense of humor. Like his Mom. Nothing is off limits for laughter around here which can sometimes be a very dangerous thing. Lately, Trent has been watching a lot of Tosh.O and sometimes shows me segments from the show that he thinks are funny. Today, he simulated these exact dance moves on the pool deck while I was trying to swim.

Sadly, the video keeps getting pulled but click HERE to view it.

I literally almost pissed myself. I won’t rest until I sneak and get him on tape doing it.

Trent received a stripe on his purple belt this past weekend at The Jungle. I wasn’t able to attend this promotion because I was getting the house ready for Manda to have Ryley’s 2nd birthday pool party.

Here he is showcasing some of his skills during testing.

Here he is accepting his stripe from his coaches and getting the shit beat out of him by his teammates. Yay!

Trent got a sponsorship manager yesterday and she is working very hard to get him new sponsors for his tournaments coming up. I spoke with her throughout the day yesterday and she wanted me to snap a few headshots of Trent. This is the best photo of them all.

This morning she texted me this news:

Very exciting things ahead for Trent!

Faith is the easiest person on earth to get a picture of. She has no issues dropping whatever she is doing and smiling or posing for the camera. The boys are very different. Trey makes weird faces and will not take it seriously no matter how much I threaten him. Trent puts his hand up and just refuses to be photographed all together. Because of this, I always have a photo of Faith as my background on my Blackberry. Since I want to see my boys on there sometimes, I had to go searching for a good photo.

Do you like it? It looks just like them. Especially the braces on Trent Butt-head

Trent is the type of person that keeps everything separate at all times. He keeps his family at home safe and sound, his friends at school, and his MMA buddies at the gym. He never mixes the two. Ever.

When school was about to let out for the summer, he was upset because he was going to miss his friends. Why he cannot invite his friends over here, or go places with them is beyond me. He’s asked, he just always makes up excuses not to go or have anyone over.

For example:

Many of the teenagers around here hang out at the local mall. Not Trent. His friends beg him to go and he always says no.
Last Friday we were going to watch a fight and had an extra ticket. We asked Trent if he wanted to bring a friend. His reply? “Nope!”
For his birthday a couple weeks ago, I offered for him to have a pool party. Hell, I BEGGED him. He refused.

Earlier, I was looking at his Formspring account and seen this…

It reads (in actual English, not teenager style);

Friend: TRENT! You shouldn’t be babysitting today! Grr.

Trent: “I know, right? I’m so bored!”

I look up at him and say “Trent, when the hell did you babysit?” and he says, “Oh I wasn’t, I was just making up an excuse not to go somewhere.”

What 14 year old wants to stay home with his parents and siblings on a weekend?

When I started out the summer, I started it with a clean house. I vowed to keep up with my household chores so that on the days that I am not watching Ryley, I could spend the entire day in the pool. Worked for a while but now my house is a mess,I’ve completely lost my tan, I should be in the pool, and I cannot seem to get motivated. I hate when my house is in disarray. Makes me feel very scatter brained so as soon as I am done with this blog post, I’m going to send the kids out to the pool, get started and not stop until I am finished.

I think I need to make myself a chore list. Maybe set some rules for myself.

Skins

Angela has been trying to get me to watch her new favorite show Skins with her for weeks and I finally caved today and agreed to watch since she babysat for me last night while I went and watched the fights with Bur and Trent. After dinner, I made myself comfortable on the couch with my laptop and told her I was ready to watch. I didn’t say how much I was going to watch because I wasn’t really sure and didn’t want to talk myself into any sort of agreement with her on how long I’d sit there. To tell the truth, I was expecting to hate it.

Now, it’s 2:40AM and I just got done watching 7 episodes back to back. I really liked it a lot. It brings back a lot of great memories of High School. *wink*

This is a description of the show from Wikipedia:

Skins is a British teen drama that follows a group of teenagers in Bristol, South West England through the two years of sixth form. The controversial plot line explores issues such as dysfunctional families, personality disorders, eating disorders, mental illness, homosexuality, and death. The show was created by father and son television writers Bryan Elsley and Jamie Brittain for Company Pictures,[1] and premiered on E4 on 25 January 2007.[2]

The show is notable for its casting of amateur actors and young writers. The cast are entirely replaced every two series, when the characters leave sixth form. Skins has broadcast four series, and has been commissioned up to a sixth. A Skins film is also in production, as well as an American adaptation by MTV, set in Baltimore, Maryland.
